You can connect Canvas to Google Drive to make submitting assignments and group collaborations easier. You can even submit a file that exists in your Google Drive if your account is connected.

1. Login to your SAIC Gmail

Open a new tab in your browser and login to your gmail.artic.edu account.

2. Open Settings in Canvas

Go back to Canvas and click the Settings link.

3. Register Google Drive

Click the Google Drive button underneath the Other Services heading. Please Note: Canvas currently has two integrations: Google Drive and Google Docs. Only Google Drive should to be authorized. If Google Docs already exists as a registered service in your account, you should remove it by clicking the X next to Google Docs under Registered Services.

4. Authorize Google Drive Access

Click the Authorize Google Drive Access button. You will be re-directed to Google to verify the authorization.

5. Grant Google Accounts Access

Click the Grant access button to connect your Google account to Canvas.

6. Add other web services

You can link other web service accounts (LinkedIn, Twitter, Skype, etc.) to your account and use them to receive notifications. Click the service in the list and follow the directions given for each service.
